Review on JioFi 2

Hi Everyone, Today I gonna review on JioFi 2 which i have been using for last few months. 

Reliance Jio has made waves in the telecom industry, forcing the incumbent operators to revise their tariffs to keep up with the competition. But Jio has a lead over its rivals, mainly due to its free 4G internet and HD calling services until the year-end, and attractive low-cost tariffs starting April 1 2017.

                              

Reliance launched a mobile hotspot device named as JioFi 2 with a free Jio 4G SIM was launched in India for ₹ 2499, But soon after that there was a price cut and it was being sold at ₹ 1,999/-. JioFi 2 connects upto 31 devices including smartphones and laptops at once. I have reviewed this tiny device to power our smartphones and a laptop over the course of a last few Months. JioFi is better than other potable hotspot devices? Let's find out in my review!

Design

Reliance JioFi 2 is handy and comfortable to carry around. It easily fits inside the pocket to provide Wi-Fi range to nearby devices. There is a display on the JioFi 2, which shows when the device is powered on which includes Signal Indicator, Connection Indicator, WiFi Indicator, WPS Indicator and Battery Indicator. It has power On/Off button on front side which makes quite comfortable to turn it on. It uses a MicroUSB slot on the right side and a WPS button is on its left. The back cover can be removed to access the battery, insert SIM card and a MicroSD card.

Battery

JioFi 2 is powered by a 2,300mAh battery which company claims to give 6-7 hours. However it lasts entire day that is more 12 hours with active usage. We also get an charger with JioFi which it charges up JioFi 2 within 1-2 hour. There is a LED indicator on the device which has 3 indicators that gives an idea of the battery levels. When it is charging all 3 indicators starts blinking and when it is fully charge all 3 indicator stops blinking and remains stable. JioFi 2 even has Normal Mode and Power Saver Mode.

Compatibility

JioFi 2 can connect up to 31 devices at once. JioFi 2 can connect any devices as long as they have Wi-Fi functionality like Smartphones, Laptops, PCs, Smart TVs and other internet-powered devices can be connected to JioFi 2 in order to access the internet. But in order to get a better coverage on all devices, it is recommended that users connect up to 10-15 devices at once. JioFi 2 can also convert an 2G/3G device as 4G as it can give 4G Speed to all Smartphone Devices.

Speed

Most of us will buy a JioFI device to tap into the high-speed internet. So speed is the most important thing here. I tested the JioFI primarily on a Android smartphone (Moto G4 Plus & Moto G5 Plus). On a Ookha speed test, the numbers were really good, In morning clocking over 24.86 Mbps download speed with upload speed of 6.12 Mbps and During Night clocking over 54.26 Mbps download speed with upload speed of 7.23 Mbps in Margao. Speed test may also give different results as you change your location as speed is depends on network strength that you get.

Jiofi 2 is very powerful device that boosts your phone speed at the price of ₹1,999/-. It is actually worth buying JioFi 2 device as it very handy and also gives high speed internet that other service provider. JioFi 2 is much better than the Idea-Netsetter, Tata Photon+ in terms of battery life, speed, compatibility, etc. There are also free additional data promotion going on for those who buys New JioFi 2 Device which is very impressive. In terms of prices the Jio has the lowest plans of 4G internet pack compared to other network provider in India that may be the key for buying JioFi 2 device.
